Judging by its name Galaxy S2 Plus is here to upgrade its predecessor the S2. Let’s find out what they have in common and what’s new in the Galaxy S2 Plus.

The S2 Plus also runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of system memory

From the outside the phone looks just like the S2. The plastic case comes in the well-known S2 shape and is available in white and blue color. The recently announced by Samsung Galaxy S2 plus has pretty much the same hardware characteristics as its older sibling. The hardware remains pretty much the same. The S2 Plus also runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of system memory.

The chipset inside is Broadcom BC 28155. Maybe the major difference between the two is a software one. The S2 Plus upgrades the original S2 which runs Gingerbread. This one comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
The 4.3 inch Super AMOLED plus capacitive touchscreen offers a great pixel density of 217ppi. The screen displays your contents in 480×800 pixel resolution. The on-board user memory available is 8GB, unlike the S2 where the least you get is 16GB. Fortunately the memory here is expandable via micro SD card slot with up to 64GB more. The weight of the S2 Plus is only 121g.
The Galaxy S2 Plus connects through NFC, Bluetooth and microUSB v2.

On the backside case panel you will find an 8MP camera. It’s a better version of the one we had on the S2 in terms of focus, speed and quality. The images are shot in 3264×2448 resolution. You are also quipped with geo-tagging, face and smile detection. In dark environments an LED flash comes to help. You can also capture a video in 1080p. The secondary camera unit is front-facing 2MP video call one.
Thanks to the software upgrade the Galaxy S2 plus brings lots of new handy features. Direct Call for example automatically dials a contact for you the second you approach the handset to your ear. Smart stay keeps the display lighting on, allowing you to read articles and news online unbothered without having to tap on the screen every time when it gets dim.
The Li-Ion battery unit on board has 1650 mAh capacity.
