Sony is on their way to fill up the whole segment of cameras starting with point-and-shoots and ending with professional DSLRs like Sony Alpha 99. Since we have so far paid more attention to the pocket cameras I think it’s time to make a few steps into the world of more professional photography.

This DSLR camera combines intuitive user-friendly controls with professional level controls and features. The Exmor APS HD CMOS image sensor delivers high-resolution output images. At the maximum 21MP quality the images come out at 5456×3632 pixel resolution.
13 points are available both through the viewfinder and in live view mode as well to capture your composition into the best frame possible.

 The AF modes include tracking focus which is extremely useful when shooting wildlife or covering an event. The focusing is quick and additionally facilitated by the lock-on function and the image stabilization Steady Shot technology inside.

If you are not so much into the manual controls this camera is a great beginner toy. It has a number of auto modes which take care of the aperture, exposure and shutter speed. There is even an Auto Object Framing or in other words the camera itself chooses the best composition keeping the rule of the thirds and taking into account the background. The Alpha 58 boosts up to 16000 ISO sensitivity

We tested the camera with a 50mm f1.4 lens and it performed greatly. The full potential of both the lens and the camera as well was revealed in low-light conditions. The Alpha 58 boosts up to 16000 ISO sensitivity, which combines perfectly with the advanced noise reduction function on board.
The recorded images and videos are saved on a micro SD card. The on-board power is provided by the 1600mAh battery unit.
On the Sony Alpha 58 you can attach lenses which are A-mount compatible.
